The exhibition KREISSSAAL [Delivery Ward] presents the same-named work by Johan Tahon, a Belgian sculptor and artist. Tahon uses perishable and “poor” materials to create sculptures and installations that make strong reference to the art history of modernism. The concentration on the human body is striking and reflects his overriding interest in the image of the human being – something that seems to be in the process of disintegrating, if one is inclined to give credence to the splintered, fragmented arrangement here. The exhibition at the IKOB renders this work perceptible and comprehensible in all its complexity.
