Angel Vergara continuously uses the installation, the environment, the performance and the video as a starting point to give painting the status it deserves today. He unfolds his action painting in space; playing with temporal overlaps (archives, memories, present, fiction), the painter's hand gesture anchors itself in the painting through the film recording of his painting hand. This action brings a new connection to the artwork and acts as an interface between history, artist and viewer.
