Tomoko Sauvage presents her performance Waterbowls as part of the exhibition SHIFTINGS by Céline Vahsen. The performance will take place on Sunday, 20 September at 5 pm at IKOB.

Tomoko Sauvage, a Japanese musician and artist, was already a guest at IKOB in 2018 as part of the Meakusma Festival. Her work explores the sculptural qualities of sound and improvisation in relation to the environment. Using an instrumentarium she developed herself, consisting of water, ceramics and electronics, she brings the seemingly inanimate to life by tuning water and vessels to one another and setting them into vibration. The tiniest sounds, barely perceptible to the human ear, are amplified and made perceptible as fragile sonic events.
